Eric Schmiedicke

Regional Finance Manager, EMC Global Financial Services

Eric is the Regional Finance Manager for EMC Global Financial Services practice, supporting the Southern and Eastern US. In that role, Eric and the individuals in his practice are responsible for helping customers manage in excess of $2 billion in IT assets.

Eric regularly meets with IT and Finance business leaders, at EMC’s largest customers, in order to help them develop strategies for more effectively managing their IT environment. He has managed engagements to perform tasks such as the following:

• Setting strategic direction based on product futures, forecast costs, and market opportunities.
  
• Providing pro forma P&L and cash flow analysis of customers’ storage environment, in order to assist with budgeting, planning, and procurement decisions.
  
• Crafting customized utility storage offerings or enterprise software licenses, based on specific customer requirements.
  
• Performing due diligence studies for large companies prior to a significant M&A activity.

In his time at EMC, Eric has worked with the following partial listing of companies: Acxiom, Capital One, Cingular, Checkfree, Coca Cola, Dell, Delta Airlines, Disney, FedEx, Home Depot, International Paper, NASDAQ, Office Depot, Tyco, Wachovia and WalMart.

Eric began his career at Arthur Andersen, as a CPA and auditor. He transferred to their MidSouth IT consulting practice, which he managed for a period of 4 years. In that role, he regularly performed infrastructure reviews designed to improve business processes and optimize the utilization of IT assets. Eric has been with EMC since December of 2000.
