The mission of the Levitt Shell is “Building Community Under the Stars—with Music For All”. Friends of the Levitt Pavilion Memphis, Inc., FLPM, is a 501C3 organization formed to restore the former Overton Park Shell and provide 50 professional, open air concerts each year that are free to the public. FLPM will manage the facility and offer free public access to outstanding professional performances of music from many different genres and cultures showcasing world music and the best of our local talent.
The diversity of family-oriented entertainment at the Levitt Shell is designed to engage all members of the rich, multi-cultural society that is the Greater Memphis community—breaking down ethnic and racial barriers, encouraging community spirit, enriching family values, and enhancing appreciation for the performing arts.
