Bently Goodwin has been in the healthcare industry since 1988, playing major organizational roles in finance, management information systems and third-party reimbursement. He structured and engineered processes geared toward maximizing employee utilization and ‘mining’ of key data elements in order to effectively manage reimbursement and operations.

Bently founded RemitDATA, Inc. in the spring of 2000. Utilizing the Internet and proprietary software mining engines, RemitDATA gives companies custom reports that summarize Medicare payment/denial data in almost any way imaginable. It also gives providers in each healthcare segment the ability to benchmark their performance against other providers within the segment.

Bently started his career with the international accounting firm Ernst & Young. After several years, he entered healthcare with a regional full-service homecare provider with responsibilities over drug distribution, home medical equipment, home health, and nurse staffing. He was responsible for oversight of finance, MIS and reimbursement for business segments growing at an average annual rate of more than 60%. He consulted for a Fortune 500 company in their healthcare division, re-engineering both reimbursement and operations in order to achieve effective data collection and increased cash collections. He also has worked in a financial capacity for a regional temporary staffing firm as well as a Fortune 500 hotel company.

Bently is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy degree from Mississippi State University. He and his wife Dana have two young boys and live in Memphis, Tennessee.
