Emerge nabs $500K grant from feds

In 2006, FedEx Corp. built out half of the 15,000-square-foot third floor as space for its IT Innovation Group in 2006. After that deal was announced, Emerge kicked off a $2.4 million capital campaign to develop the rest of the building.

The funding is from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and Gwin Scott, president of Emerge, said building out the fourth floor has been a major part of Emerge’s strategy for the last few years.

“Our plans to proceed are solidified,” Scott said.
