Lori Turner: Managing Partner, RedRover Sales and Marketing. Lori spent over 15 years leading corporate marketing and communications divisions in the financial services, hospitality and franchise restaurant sectors before deciding to start her own firm. “I had an idea for a different model for an agency,” she says. Her idea was to combine marketing services with sales training; the idea turned out to be a great one. Red Rover has been growing with surprising strength through the much talked about economic downturn. In fact, they’ve enjoyed 250% growth in the last two years! “No other shop in town offers sales training. We figured out what would best support the sales team for our clients And people don’t stop investing in their sales teams. When she and partner Julie Lunn opened the business, they decided to join the Emerge Memphis program to help foster their growth. The company graduated from the five year program in just two and a half years. The five person team has now moved into a beautiful new office space on South Front Street. The trendy office space is made extra cozy with the addition of their business support team: the staff’s pets. “We’re a pet-friendly environment,” Lori says, showing off a hilariously staged holiday photo of her pets. “Pets are great for the blood pressure.” With a dog at her side, Lori is ready to continue moving forward. She takes pride in her very seasoned team of industry veterans who she hires for their “layers of experience” and ability to help multiple clients. “Teams of two work on an account,” she says of serving their mostly local clientele. “Who you see is who actually does the work.” Lori is a founding sponsor and member of the Board of Directors for LaunchMemphis – an organization committed to developing an entrepreneurial community in Memphis comprised of investors, entrepreneurs and local organizations. In addition, Lori is on the Board of Directors of the Sales and Marketing Society of the Mid-South and on the Advisory Board for the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County.
